Expat Cricket
Sunday is cricket day
From Tuesday night net practices, to match day on Sunday frequented by the whole family. Expat cricket is taken rather seriously in Mauritius. But don’t worry if your cricket skills are slightly lacking – there is always the B Team.
With its warm water and trade winds between 15 – 22 knots, sailing in Mauritius can be truly be considered as true “champagne sailing”. Grand Baie Yacht Club, dating back to 1941, is the hub for the competitive race fleet. Seasonal regattas include windward leeward courses in the north, round the island races, and multi-port racing. From Flying 15’s and hobie cats to 50-foot keel boats, it is easy to see why sailing in Mauritius has been a favourite past time since 1941.
Prefer cruising to racing? No problem. Flat Island, Coine del Mare, and Gabriel Island are all less than an hour’s sail away. Snorkelling, sundowners, and sunset sails do not get much better than this. For the more adventurous at heart, why not visit the untouched archipelago of St. Brandon. An approximate 36 hour sail will deliver you to this truly untouched paradise.

I had a terrible experience with the first immigration company I used. They sold me an expensive structure I didn't need and when I questioned it, they treated me terribly. They acted as if I was the one who had done something wrong. The communication from then on took a bullying tone and made us feel alone in a new country. They weren't interested in trying to fix the mess they caused. We've now written off the money, moved to Mauritius, and couldn't be happier with the advice and service!
Chris, Cape Town, ZA
“No problem at all, I’m happy to write the team a review. So far your guidance and service has been nothing but the best, the whole family is loving Mauritius and we’re saving tax being here, what’s not to like”

“As a family with the future of South Africa seeming uncertain at best we had been considering options like Canada, U.K and Australia. However it wasn’t till we find out Mauritius was an option that we made our decision”
Jaco, Bloemfontein, ZA
